It can sometimes be difficult to maintain relationships with the people around us. Friends, family or work colleagues. Sometimes, events take place that affect these relationships. Insults, disrespect, attacks on our person and even betrayals.
The devil can use these events to enter our lives and change the state of our relationship with the person(s) concerned. This can affect us greatly. The feelings and emotions we may experience afterwards disturb us to the point of damaging our relationship with God. Jesus said; A new command I give you; Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another (John C13V34).
Resisting love by standing firm in our hatred or rage is like resisting God. When I have a relationship with someone who fuels feelings or emotions contrary to God’s will, many spheres of my life can be affected.
The answer to restoring destroyed relationships is love.
If I exercise love, I find forgiveness. Forgiveness is the living power of Jesus Christ. It is through God’s forgiveness that we have been saved and it is through forgiveness that we can restore any broken relationships. Forgiveness is a shared power of God. We can only fully achieve it through the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Asking the Holy Spirit for the sharing of forgiveness positions us better to do the same with whom it may concern. Ask the Lord for the manifestation of forgiveness and find peace in all your relationships.
Almighty Lord, I pray to your Holy Name because I need to experience the manifestation of your Forgiveness in my life. Share this power with me so that I can give you grace through my relationships. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
