Staring too long into the abyss makes the abyss stare back at us.
The traumas of our lives leave their mark on us. They affect our perception, our vision and sometimes even our goals.
I lived in darkness for a long time.
When the Lord came into my life, He made me understand that I had to follow Him.
To leave the place where I was.
I wasn’t ready to leave the darkness behind.
In my darkness were hatred, rage, and injustice among others. The hatred I had for myself, caused by so many years of abandonment, and the rage that came from the injustices I’d suffered in my life. Not to mention the loneliness that created a big hole in my heart.
Emotions and feelings I wasn’t ready to give up for Christ. An alliance was forged between me and everything that kept me from getting closer to God.
Jesus wants our hearts.
In our relationship with God, the time will come when the Lord Almighty will ask us to submit all that darkness we’ve come to protect so that the Holy Spirit can take His place.
Once we find the courage to trust God and give Him our hearts, He will renew our minds.
What was once stained by darkness will now lighten the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Despite these benefits, this process can be difficult.
This transformation is not possible unless the Holy Spirit constantly guides us and keeps us in His righteousness and truth. Amen!
The Holy Spirit’s truth is the one that will clear up the lies we believe in the abyss of our darkness.
Seek God’s face, ask Him to enlighten you and seek the Holy Spirit’s will that will renew our understanding.
Discover God’s intelligence in all its spheres. Be it emotional, psychological, spiritual, etc. Hallelujah!
Even if the abyss leaves its mark on us as a result of having been around it for too long, the power of the Holy Spirit lifts us up and cleanses us from it all.
Almighty Lord, may I not remain lukewarm towards You. I pray that Your Holy Spirit transforms me according to Your will and introduces the best version of myself to the world. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
